Like one-patch mosaic quilts that utilize and unify small pieces of many kinds of fabrics, the Trip Around the World pattern—a variation of the Postage Stamp pattern – is popular with quilters looking to make the most of scraps left over from other projects. Hand-stitched and quilted along the diagonal lines created by the squares. This quilter was skilled at alternating solids and prints, as well as light/dark and cool/warm colors to make the quilt radiate from the center.
