Outline Embroidered Quilt
McKissick Museum Collection 2013.11.100
Single-colored, outline-embroidered quilts created from squares that had been pre-stamped with a design were popular with needleworkers from 1910-1930. After 1920, manufacturers developed more colorfast shades of embroidery floss and the fashion for single-colored, outline-embroidered quilts waned.
